As many of you know Sagamore Spirit is one of the hottest new businesses in the city and they are doing great things to help bring some life to the Port Covington area. A few of us had the amazing opportunity to be guinea pigs for their new partnership with Baltimore Water Taxi, a Sagamore Sunset Tour, an opportunity which we all obviously jumped at!
We started with a tour of Sagamore Spirit Whiskey Distillery. We learned everything one would need to know about the process – all about how the whiskey is made and where different ingredients come into the process.
We all learned that Sagamore takes their grains seriously. Rye grains are delivered weekly and reviewed meticulously by our distillers. Each batch is checked for consistency in smell, flavor, and feel before heading into one of our grain silos. It is even made with Sagamore Farm spring water.
After learning all about the distillation process and all that goes into preparing and labeling the whiskey, we got to taste a few of the different ones that they make there. We were then greeted by Baltimore Water Taxi’s staff and walked over to the water.
The staff from Baltimore Water Taxi was waiting for us onboard with cocktails featuring Sagamore Spirit and light snacks. We couldn’t ask for better weather. We were able to enjoy music, drinks, and a beautiful sunset out in the middle of the harbor.
We would highly recommend checking out this special event they are running on Wednesdays every couple weeks. Great way to spend hump day!
